When a serial killer lined the banks of Highway 22 with two severed heads impaled on sticks, he turned the old university town of Sidon into his playing ground and marred it with death. He follows with a series of taunting sonnets to the police, where he mocks them and promises more murders.

For every pair of heads found impaled alongside the road, he has two girls in store, facing the same morbid and grotesque fate. In the mean time, Homicide Detective Hollenbeck thinks he is coming close to seizing the maddened killer.
